{"id":9577,"date":"2024-01-18T16:10:21","date_gmt":"2024-07-26T09:11:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/corteospitale.org\/site\/?p=9577"},"modified":"2025-01-10T16:56:44","modified_gmt":"2025-01-10T14:56:44","slug":"moving-to-change","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/corteospitale.org\/site\/moving-to-change\/","title":{"rendered":"Moving to Change"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>MOVING TO CHANGE<\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>EN<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8220;Moving to change&#8221; (MTC) stems from <strong>Corte Ospitale<\/strong>&#8216;s experience in developing innovative processes in the relationship between artists and communities. As a residency center, we believe that art residencies can be places for practices innovation, spaces where, through the creative process, it\u2019s possible to cross territories and create generative change. With this project, we want to go a step further, treasuring the place we inhabit: an ancient hospice for pilgrims from the 16th century, located in Rubiera (Italy), a town of 15 thousand inhabitants.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3 artists and 2 cultural professionals<\/strong> <strong>(A&amp;CPs)<\/strong> <strong>from the performing arts <\/strong>will be together in residence in Corte Ospitale <strong>for 30 days from 24.09.2024 to 24.10.2024<\/strong>. Through a month-long residency the artists will share their practices, get to know each other and build a lasting bond with the inhabitants. The dialogue between artists and inhabitants will be designed in an intercultural and intergenerational perspective to tell, through performing arts, a place perceived as a cultural heritage and to find a new sense of belonging, new perspectives and mindsets.<\/p>\n<p>These are the selected artists and cultural professionals:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8212;&#8211; Matilde Bassetti \u2013 Senior Artist &#8212;&#8211;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Bio<\/strong><br \/>\nMatilde Bassetti is an Italian dance and performance artist based in Berlin since 2017. Situated at the intersection of performance and installation, her practice combines movements, images, video, and collective actions. Games of dissociative identities and storytelling are recurring components in her work. She is interested in creating intimate spaces that allow us to be vulnerable, where actions are led by desires and pleasure.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Motivation<\/strong><br \/>\nI am interested in practices, approaches, and ways of relating that deal with the idea of communities. I am excited to build a new network of energies, to learn and enrich the creative process. I strongly support cooperation strategies as a tool to dream and create a new understanding of our social structures and I believe Moving to change is the perfect context.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8212;&#8211; Hana Koksalova \u2013 Junior Artist &#8212;&#8211;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Bio<br \/>\n<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hana Kok\u0161alov\u00e1 is a multimedia artist, performer, organizer and director. Her work blends categories of visual and live performance art, creating hybrid forms. She focuses on the diversity of interpretations of places, exploring the relationships between people and their immediate surroundings, looking for forms of locality that extend into embodied experiences of urban activism. Her projects take the form of performances, participatory happenings with specific groups and interventions in public space. Lately her work moved more into the realm of documentary theater, discovering ways to tell authentic experiences or important stories through authorial collaborative artistic languages.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Motivation<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I decided to join Moving to Change because I am interested in collective processes without clearly set productive goals &#8211; I am interested in exploring collaboration, co-creation, communication. In my work I usually work site and social specific and learning more about these forms of collaboration is always \u201eby doing\u201c and Moving to change project is a great learning, experiencing opportunity. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8212;&#8211; Danae Papadopoulou \u2013 Junior Artist &#8212;&#8211;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Bio<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.danaepapadopoulou.com\/en\/bio\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Danae Papadopoulou<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is a Greek choreographer and dancer based in France. In parallel with her bachelor studies in greek Philology she has been trained in contemporary dance and traditional Greek dances. She did a Master&#8217;s degree in Performing Arts in Grenoble and founded the company Valits\u03b1 in 2021. Her work focuses on the social and cultural origins of the body, as well as the questions of identity and culture due to the environment where it comes from. She has a specific interest in the dialogue between text, movement and human sciences, such as anthropology and linguistics.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Motivation<\/strong><br \/>\nI wanted to be part of Moving to Change because I believe that collective work and participatory artistic projects are the best ways to collaborate and give meaning to my artistic perspective. Sharing and creating in such a context is a way to contribute to a better society and a more beautiful way of living.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8212;&#8211; Ivana Jelaca \u2013 Senior Curator &#8212;&#8211;<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Bio<\/strong><br \/>\nIvana Jela\u010da (Croatia) works as a pianist (freelance artist) and artistic researcher, performing regularly in Croatia and abroad. As the creative leader of The Rest is Music, an NGO based in Dubrovnik (Croatia), she has been devising participatory multimedia projects, educational cycles and workshops with an innovative approach to listening to music for the past ten years. While putting herself in multiple roles of (music) curator, performer, and producer, Ivana Jela\u010da frequently organizes performances and workshops to explore and test new performative concepts of classical music. She is a doctoral candidate (artistic research in music) at Orpheus Institute and KU Leuven (Belgium).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Motivation<\/strong><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-variant-caps: normal;\">As creative leader of The Rest is Music, an NGO based in Dubrovnik, for the past ten years I <\/span>have been devising and implementing multimedia projects, educational cycles and workshops with an innovative approach to performing and listening to music. This brought me an immensely valuable experience not just in my artistic practice(s), but also in educating, producing and managing.<\/p>\n<p>I have always been inclined to position my performances in the wider cultural-social context. While historical context is a starting point, more emphasis is laid on current performative conditions, improvisation and experimentation, including audio-visual, intermedia, multimedia, and participatory art.<\/p>\n<p>I believe I can contribute to this residency and its creative process of mutual exchange by<br \/>\nproposing a new take on site-specific performance, and creative solutions that would bring up the final outcome to a level where both artists and audiences\/local communities are more focused on the process itself than the (artistic) product.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8212;&#8211; Polena Kolia Petersen \u2013 Junior Curator &#8212;&#8211;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Bio<\/strong><br \/>\nI am a Greek &#8211; Danish dance performer, maker and facilitator. My work focuses on dance &amp; participation and expanded choreography, especially socially engaged and community dance practices, as well as sustainable methodologies for collectivizing practices in the performing arts. My physical practice is rooted in Open Training &#8211; MB (Mind Body\/Muscle Bone), the physical component of Min Tanaka\u2019s Body Weather approach, which I studied close to Kitt Johnson (DK).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Motivation<\/strong><br \/>\nI decided to participate in Moving to Change as it brings the echoes of place, time, locality and community to dialogue with interdisciplinarity and intergenerationality in contemporary art nurturing more sustainable artistic methodologies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>____________________<\/p>\n<p><strong>IT<\/strong><br \/>\n\u201cMoving to change\u201d (MTC) nasce dall&#8217;esperienza di <strong>Corte Ospitale<\/strong> nello sviluppo di processi innovativi nel rapporto tra artisti e comunit\u00e0. Come centro di residenza, crediamo che le residenze artistiche possano essere luoghi di innovazione delle pratiche, spazi in cui, attraverso il processo creativo, \u00e8 possibile attraversare territori e creare cambiamenti generativi. Con questo progetto vogliamo fare un passo in pi\u00f9, facendo tesoro del luogo che abitiamo: un antico ospizio per pellegrini del XVI secolo, situato a Rubiera (Italia), una cittadina di 15mila abitanti.<\/p>\n<p>3 artisti e 2 professionisti culturali (A&amp;CP) delle arti performative condivideranno insieme un periodo di residenza in Corte Ospitale di 30 giorni, dal 24.09.2024 al 24.10.2024. Attraverso una residenza di un mese, gli artisti condivideranno le loro pratiche, si conosceranno e costruiranno un legame duraturo con gli abitanti. Il dialogo tra artisti e abitanti sar\u00e0 concepito in una prospettiva interculturale e intergenerazionale per raccontare, attraverso le arti performative, un luogo percepito come patrimonio culturale e per trovare un nuovo senso di appartenenza, nuove prospettive e mentalit\u00e0.<\/p>\n<p>Ecco gli artisti e i professionisti della cultura selezionati:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8212;&#8211; Matilde Bassetti &#8211; Artista Senior &#8212;&#8211;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Biografia<\/strong><br \/>\nMatilde Bassetti \u00e8 un&#8217;artista italiana di danza e performance con sede a Berlino dal 2017.<br \/>\nSituata all&#8217;intersezione tra performance e installazione, la sua pratica combina movimenti, immagini, video e azioni collettive. Giochi di identit\u00e0 dissociative e di identit\u00e0 dissociate e di narrazione sono componenti ricorrenti nel suo lavoro. \u00c8 interessata a creare spazi intimi che spazi intimi che ci permettano di essere vulnerabili, dove le azioni sono guidate dai desideri e dal piacere.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Motivazione<\/strong><br \/>\nMi interessano le pratiche, gli approcci e i modi di relazionarsi che hanno a che fare con l&#8217;idea di comunit\u00e0. Sono entusiasta di costruire una nuova rete di energie, di imparare e di arricchire il processo creativo. Il suo lavoro fonde le categorie dell&#8217;arte visiva e della performance dal vivo, creando forme ibride. Si concentra sulla diversit\u00e0 delle interpretazioni dei luoghi, esplorando le relazioni tra le persone e i loro immediati dintorni, alla ricerca di forme di localit\u00e0 che si estendono a esperienze incarnate di attivismo urbano. I suoi progetti prendono la forma di performance, eventi partecipativi con gruppi specifici e interventi nello spazio pubblico. Ultimamente il suo lavoro si \u00e8 spostato pi\u00f9 nel campo del teatro documentario, scoprendo modi per raccontare esperienze autentiche o storie importanti attraverso linguaggi artistici collaborativi e autoriali.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Motivazione<\/strong><br \/>\nHo deciso di unirmi a Moving to Change perch\u00e9 sono interessata ai processi collettivi senza obiettivi produttivi ben definiti &#8211; sono interessata a esplorare la collaborazione, la co-creazione, la comunicazione. Nel mio lavoro sono solita lavorare su siti specifici e sociali e imparare di pi\u00f9 su queste forme di collaborazione \u00e8 sempre \u201cfacendo\u201d e il progetto Moving to change \u00e8 una grande opportunit\u00e0 di apprendimento e di esperienza.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8212;&#8211; Danae Papadopoulou &#8211; Artista Junior &#8212;&#8211;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Biografia<br \/>\nDanae Papadopoulou \u00e8 una coreografa e danzatrice greca residente in Francia. Parallelamente agli studi di filologia greca, si \u00e8 formata nella danza contemporanea e nelle danze tradizionali greche. Ha conseguito un Master in Arti dello Spettacolo a Grenoble e ha fondato la compagnia Valits\u03b1 nel 2021. Il suo lavoro si concentra sulle origini sociali e culturali del corpo, nonch\u00e9 sulle questioni di identit\u00e0 e cultura dovute all&#8217;ambiente da cui proviene. Ha un interesse specifico per il dialogo tra testo, movimento e scienze umane, come l&#8217;antropologia e la linguistica.<\/p>\n<p>Motivazione<br \/>\nHo voluto far parte di Moving to Change perch\u00e9 credo che il lavoro collettivo e i progetti artistici partecipativi siano i modi migliori per collaborare e dare un senso alla mia prospettiva artistica. Pur ricoprendo molteplici ruoli di curatrice (musicale), performer e produttrice, Ivana Jela\u010da organizza spesso performance e workshop per esplorare e testare nuovi concetti performativi della musica classica. \u00c8 dottoranda (ricerca artistica in campo musicale) presso l&#8217;Orpheus Institute e la KU Leuven (Belgio).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Motivazione<\/strong><br \/>\nCome responsabile creativo di The Rest is Music, una ONG con sede a Dubrovnik, negli ultimi dieci anni ho ideato e realizzato progetti multimediali, cicli educativi e laboratori con un approccio innovativo all&#8217;esecuzione e all&#8217;ascolto della musica. Questo mi ha portato un&#8217;esperienza immensamente preziosa non solo nella mia pratica artistica, ma anche nell&#8217;educazione, nella produzione e nella gestione.<\/p>\n<p>Sono sempre stato incline a collocare i miei spettacoli in un contesto culturale e sociale pi\u00f9 ampio. Sebbene il contesto storico sia un punto di partenza, l&#8217;accento \u00e8 posto sulle condizioni performative attuali, sull&#8217;improvvisazione e sulla sperimentazione, comprese le arti audiovisive, intermedie, multimediali e partecipative.<\/p>\n<p>Ritengo di poter contribuire a questa residenza e al suo processo creativo di scambio reciproco<br \/>\nproponendo un nuovo approccio alla performance site-specific e soluzioni creative che portino il risultato finale a un livello in cui sia gli artisti sia il pubblico\/le comunit\u00e0 locali siano pi\u00f9 concentrati sul processo stesso che sul prodotto (artistico).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8212;&#8211; Polena Kolia Petersen &#8211; Curatore junior &#8212;&#8211;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Biografia<\/strong><br \/>\nSono una performer, creatrice e facilitatrice di danza greco-danese.
